EXPO Material & Evaluation

OUR PLAQUE FOR THE EXPO:

We will bring post-it notes, making it possible for our users to write their experiences with our game, which we can then use for our final evaluation.

VIDEO PROTOTYPE OF OUR GAME:

PITCH:

"History is never truly in the past - it's a living story, shaped and reshaped by those who tell it".

Our game concept revolves around the contrast between the romanticized ideal presented by the Romantic period and the more realistic depiction of the world introduced by the Modern Breakthrough.

The images from these periods all tell stories—and each one reshapes reality in its own way. Our interpretations, in turn, reshape those stories again. After all, how much of what we see can we truly trust?

You are a farmer living in a world, where the reality is harsh and plants refuse to grow.  You will face an opportunity to overcome this problem by entering an idealised world of the romantic period. But will this resolve things or will you discover that a polished world doesn’t exist? No matter who you are and where you come from, you can’t cheat your way through life..."

EVALUATIONS AT THE EXPO:

We think that the evaluation we received at the EXPO on 9th of May where very positive for the most part. Some players expressed concern for the controls, as they weren't always intuitive, and that some of the particle systems weren't clear in their role in the game. HOWEVER, we were mostly met by players who thought our idea was creepy and engaging, which made them want to play it for even longer.

We asked our players to write three words describing their experience with playing our game, which can be seen on the image below.

Some of them are in Danish, so to translate: "very good idea! super creepy, but that makes it more immersive, the buckets can be kind of in the way", "bit hard to walk, but otherwise nice and good storyline", "a bit confusing at the beginning, but i didn't see the tutorial. Great feedback with the light", "cool idea, great story, felt like an escape room".
